AIR

The Analytic Institute Rietzler (AIR) was founded in 1986 and is located in Nuremberg, Germany. Analysis services can be applied in the fields of drinking- and waste water, emission control, contaminated sites, and many other sectors. The laboratory is accredited according to international standards and equipped with state of the art analysis technology and highly skilled laboratory staff.
AIR supports LIRE in the fields of drinking- and waste water analysis.

BORDA

BORDA (Bremen Overseas Research & Development Association) is a non-profit organization established in 1977 in Bremen, Germany. BORDA’s mission is to improve the livelihoods of disadvantaged groups within societies and to sustain the functioning of eco-systems through dissemination of demand oriented Basic-Need-Services (BNS) in the sectors of water supply, wastewater treatment, community based sanitation and solid waste management as well as in the field of renewable energy.

LIRE-BORDA Cooperation:
Launched in spring 2009, the LIRE-BORDA DEWATS Program focuses on decentralized sanitation through the promotion of Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS) for Community Based Sanitation (CBS) and Small & Medium Enterprise (SME).
The program integrates components on capacity building for DEWATS service providers, which includes community facilitation, DEWATS design and advocacy. Additionally, DEWATS specific design and supervision services are provided. The program aims to align itself with communities, SME's, institutions and donors in a multi-stakeholder approach that are interested in DEWATS technology.

DATS

Dongkhamxang Agriculture Technical School (DATS) is a public Technical Education Institute (TEI) under the responsibility and supervision of the Department of Vocational, Technical and Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MOE), Lao PDR. Its main duty is to train young people in the agricultural system in order to serve the national socio-economic development plan of the future. DATS is also researching the new knowledge on agriculture, forestry and environmental reservation, then distributing it to the community.

eco:factum is a consulting firm advising companies on their corporate responsibility commitment. Together with its network partners, eco:factum provides a wide range of services to its clients e.g. CSR-consulting, project-management, marketing and communication.
In May 2010, LIRE entered into an exclusive partnership with eco:factum. To put eco:factum´s clients corporate responsibility commitment into action, the collaboration will focus on introducing LIRE's renewable energy solutions into poverty stricken remote areas in Laos. Both organisations will leverage on each other's experience in CSR activities, and formulate socially responsible strategies that would benefit the poorest of the poor in Laos.

ETC

ETC Energy, a Dutch NGO, via EASE Network is committed to providing modern energy services to the poor in developing countries through business development support, capacity building, policy influencing and research.
The initial partnership with ETC was expanded in the approval and performance of the “Pico-hydropower Innovation & Capacity Building Programme second phase”. The program aims to scale up and improve the quality, safety, efficiency and reliability of pico hydro technology through existing and potential new market channels in Lao PDR.

Engineers Without Borders (EWB)

The partnership with EWB United Kingdom and Australia enables LIRE to benefit from highly skilled international experts. Engineers Without Borders objective is to help people in developing communities to make improvements to their lives in a sustainable manner. EWB currently supports LIRE through volunteer engineers, assisting LIRE to develop and implement a number of renewable energy systems and train LIRE staff in the installation and maintenance of these key technologies.

Fact Foundation

FACT promotes sustainable biofuels for local communities in developing countries by providing knowledge and expertise on biofuel implementation, by field testing innovative biofuels and by giving specialist advice on demand. LIRE works closely with FACT when conducting biofuels research in Laos.

Fraunhofer Institute

Fraunhofer is Europe's largest application-oriented research organization.
Their research efforts are geared entirely to people's needs: health, security, communication, energy and the environment, therefore their work has a significant impact on people's lives. Fraunhofer Institute is LIRE's partner for contract research in all fields of engineering sciences.

National University of Laos – Faculty of Engineering

National University of Laos (NUOL) is the leading university in Vientiane, Laos. Founded in 1996, with departments brought in from other existing colleges, it is the only national university in the country. The University is cooperating with various international universities and is a partner of the Greater Mekong Sub-region Academic and Research Network (GMSARN) and ASEAN University Network (AUN).The Faculty of Engineering (FoE) is a popular faculty at the university.
LIRE's partnership with FoE is of significant importance to renewable energy research in Laos. Both parties leverage on each other's expertise to strengthen the renewable energy infrastructure in Laos.

Ourworld Rural Development Laos

Ourworld Rural Development Laos, was founded in early 2008. The company provides technology-based solutions to municipalities, industrial enterprises, and consumers with practical ways to solve their water-related and process problems in an environmentally responsible way.
