The Jatropha Program of LIRE is launched
Wednesday, 31 January 2007
LIRE had a workshop in November 2006 that drafted a program for developing the Jatropha potential of Laos. This program is now available for consideration by interested agencies and companies. It gives an overview of all the aspects that need to be explored for mastering this complex challenge. 10 R&D projects have been defined, ranging from germplasm collection to tests with various types of motors. For each project budget line items have also been defined. This program is submitted to interested development agencies and companies for funding of any of the specific R&D projects, which all fit together to try to tap this potential.
